Potsdam

Town with a population of 150,000 which lies directly outside Berlin. Potsdam was home to several Prussian Kings, mainly at the Sanssouci Palace, now part of Germany's largest World Heritage Site. Potsdam also has the oldest large-scale film studio in the World. The Potsdam Conference was held here at the end of World War II, resulting in the Potsdam Agreement (deciding the future of Germany) and the Potsdam Declaration (the call for the surrender of Japan).

Мы называли ее "Торговка". А в конце улицы у самой площади в конце 80-х был магазин железнодорожного моделизма - это кошмар детей и родителей - уйти оттуда было невозможно.

Hi. It still exists. This property was returned to the former owners in 2002. They sold it to private in 2003. But i dont have any idea about to whom. Here two short links (one only in German) http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Villa_von_Diringshofen http://books.google.de/books?id=g47N_tGecmIC&pg=PA17&lpg=PA17&dq=villa+sigismund+potsdam&source=bl&ots=87nR-QVq6j&sig=JiYse5xyEHs4-V_-6llsDnZtQbw&hl=en&sa=X&ei=m7dOVPeOFsLWaprJgvAM&ved=0CHAQ6AEwCA#v=onepage&q=villa%20sigismund%20potsdam&f=false

I am returning back to Berlin this weekend (a lovely gift from my partner) after 40 years (1974) I went to RAF Gatow School and my Father was based there, Sqn/Ldr David Perry. We did not live at RAF Gatow so I did find it very lonely not having any friends to play with. I was also privileged to go and stay in "The Mission House" in Potsdam, as my Father was British Commanders-In Chief Mission, whereby I felt like a princess and explored this amazing house, does anyone know if it still exits?? I would love to hear from anyone who has any connections or could help me. Thank you.
